LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Investment Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal has contracted the coronavirus, which has affected 321,218 people across the country.
Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal tested for the coronavirus after feeling unwell last night. The provincial minister has isolated himself at home after his test came out positive.
Prominent political leaders who had contracted the virus so far include National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Dr. Zafar Mirza, former SAPM on health, PPP leader Saeed Ghani, and Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid.

The country has reported 13 coronavirus deaths and 756 new positive cases in the last 24 hours. According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, 13 more people were killed and the death toll from Corona rose to 6,614 in 24 hours. In Pakistan, 35,398 people have recovered and the number of active cases is 9,209.
The coronavirus has killed 2,277 people in Punjab and 2,566 in Sindh. The death toll has risen to 1,264 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Islamabad, 146 in Balochistan, 90 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 80 in Azad Kashmir.
The number of corona cases in Islamabad has reached 17,681. At least 101,237 cases have been reported in Punjab, 140,997 in Sindh, 38,464 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,599 in Balochistan, 3,982 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 3,258 in Azad Kashmir.
