The administration of Punjab has made the decision to begin a recruitment drive this summer in order to address the province’s teacher deficit.
The Punjab Education Department official was quoted by APP on Sunday, saying Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has recently given task to the Punjab education minister to recruit 30,000 new teachers in order to improve the quality of education and overcome shortage of teachers.
The recruitment process is being carried out after seven years, the sources said. The recruitment process will be carried out through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) in phases.
Sources said the recruitment process was likely to be completed during the summer vacation 2024.
Earlier in March, the Sindh Education Department made the decision to hire thousands of primary school teachers throughout the province to tackle the existing shortage.
The department planned to recruit 15,380 primary school teachers. The HR Wing of the School Education Department has completed all necessary arrangements.
