Aamir Liaquat Hussain won from Karachi NA-245 in the 2018 general elections on a PTI ticket. The disgruntled leader had earlier hinted at resigning from his constituency.
In July last year, Aamir Liaquat had confessed that he was helpless and unable to provide electricity to the people of the city. He said that he could not witness the suffering of the people of Karachi and his constituency.
Liaquat said he had asked the premier for a meeting so he could present his resignation in person. However, the prime minister had rejected the resignation and directed him to continue in the post. He shared that the prime minister told him that he was aware of the problems facing Karachi, and that city was the most important for him.
Aamir Liaquat had also complained on several occasions that he was not invited to party meetings. He also alleged that Governor Sindh meets all MNAs and MPAs from the city but he was been sidelined due to his stringent views on issues people of the city are facing.
