MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has won majority seats in the first phase of the local government (LG) elections held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday.

According to data gathered by MM News from the AJK election commission website, results at 664 out of 669 seats had been announced which showed that the PTI was leading with a total of 197 seats, followed by Pakistan People’s Party with 194 seats. Pakistan Muslim League N could secure a total of 127 seats and independent candidates secured 121 seats.

It may be mentioned here that the local government elections in the other two divisions of the state Poonch and Mirpur will be held on the 3rd and 8th of next month respectively.
