ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to hold another round of countrywide protests today against assassination attempt on party Chairman Imran Khan.

Taking to Twitter, party’s secretary general Asad Umar said that there would be protests in all major cities of the country on Saturday, at 5 pm, adding that the site for the protest will be announced by the local party leadership.

کل پانچ بجے پاکستان کے تمام شہروں میں احتجاجی اجتماع ہوں گے. ہر شہر کی احتجاج کی جگہ کا اعلان مقامی تنظیمیں کریں گی. ان کو دکھائیں حقیقی طور پر آزاد قوم کو کوئی دبا نہیں سکتا. میں خود لبرٹی چوک لاہور میں احتجاج میں شرکت کروں گا

Today’s protest follows countrywide’ demonstrations staged yesterday by PTI after Friday prayers to denounce assassination attempt on Imran Khan. Khan and 13 others were injured when multiple shooters fired at them in Wazirabad on Thursday. One PTI supporter lost life in the incident.

Last evening, Police and PTI workers came face to face at Faizabad in Rawalpindi. Police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.

in Lahore, protesters set tyres on fire in front of Governor House, while Metro bus service was suspended due to the protest on Ferozepur Road. Also in Karachi, police resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse PTI protesters at Shahra-e-Faisla.
