LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi notified that his party’s long march would now be delayed by two days and would resume on Thursday.
“The march will resume on Thursday at 2:00 pm instead of tomorrow,” the PTI leader said.
Qureshi’s statement comes after Imran Khan held a meeting with the party leaders and legal team at Zaman Park, where a detailed review was done over the delay in filing an FIR of the Wazirabad incident and the strategy of long march.
The meeting was attended by Asad Umar, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Umar Sarfaraz Cheema, Yasmeen Rashid, and other party leaders to hold a consultation.
In the discussion, the orders given by the Supreme Court to the Punjab police for registering the FIR were also discussed.
Sources said that the meeting also discussed the spots where Imran Khan would address the public.
Earlier, former information minister Fawad Chaudhry said that his party’s long march would be delayed by one day and would resume on Wednesday.
“The march will resume the day after tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2:00 pm instead of tomorrow,” the PTI leader said in a tweet on Monday.
The march was halted on November 3 after Imran Khan sustained bullet injuries in what the party termed an assassination attempt.
