He said the only purpose of arresting Imran Khan is to make him target of assassination, and so as to aggravate situation to the extent that despite Supreme Court’s orders, elections couldn’t be held on time.
He alleged that there was a plan to assassinate Imran Khan when he appeared in courts to face cases, adding that there was no difference between Shehbaz Sharif and Mohsin Naqvi.
Speaking on this occasion, senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said an attempt on the life of Imran Khan had already been made (on Nov 3 last year), and there is probability that another attempt could be made. He said the notice by Islamabad police had been received, and no such thing as ‘arrest’ was mentioned there.
He asked PTI workers to remain calm, and the party would respond only after consulting lawyers.
