PTI lawyers and workers assault Khawar Maneka outside court

In a disturbing incident on Wednesday, Khawar Maneka faced a brutal attack by lawyers outside a court in Islamabad. The assault occurred as Maneka arrived to attend the hearing of an illegal nikah case involving PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, where Maneka himself is a petitioner.

The situation escalated rapidly as PTI lawyers and female workers allegedly resorted to throwing bottles at Maneka and engaging in a physical altercation. Shockingly, the violence extended into the courtroom, where Maneka was reportedly slapped by PTI lawyers.

The turmoil unfolded amidst heightened anticipation for the court’s verdict in the Iddat case against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. However, proceedings took a tumultuous turn when Maneka expressed distrust in Judge Shahrukh Arjumand, prompting the judge to retreat to his chamber without announcing the verdict.

As tensions mounted, PTI lawyers allegedly hurled bottles at Maneka, accusing him of using derogatory language against the party founder and his wife.

Last week, the court had reserved its verdict on appeals lodged by Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi against their conviction in the Iddat case. A distressing video circulating on television channels captured the harrowing moment as Maneka, clad in a white shalwar-kameez, was assaulted by individuals, purportedly lawyers, outside the court premises.
