Islamabad: The intra-party elections of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been challenged in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
According to the petition filed in the Election Commission, the petitioner was the former Deputy Secretary General of Islamabad and wanted to contest the elections for Secretary General of PTI.
In the text of the petition, it is said that there was no schedule of PTI intra-elections, neither voter lists were issued nor was any activity in the central secretariat.
It has been further stated that the petitioner wanted to contest for the general secretary in the intra-party elections of PTI, but he was not aware of the schedule.
The petitioner requested the Election Commission that PTI did not conduct the intra-party elections per the law and party constitution, therefore it should be declared null and void.
