SIALKOT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Ahsan Saleem Baryar has won the PP-38 Sialkot by-election.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, PTI’s Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem secured 60,588 votes, while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Chaudhry Tariq Akhtar came second with 53,471 votes.
The PTI has now two provincial assembly seats in Sialkot district out of the 11 Punjab Assembly seats. . Ahsan Baryar is the son of PML-Q Muhammad Saleem Baryar. He claimed the PML-Q fully supported him and did not field its candidate paving the way for his success.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib says Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem Baryar has won the by-election of PP-38 Sialkot.
In a tweet, he said the election commission has issued an unofficial and unconfirmed count of all 165 polling stations on Form 47. He said PTI’s candidate Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem Baryar remained on top with 62,657 votes. Farrukh Habib said the Pakistan Muslim League-N once again faced the worst-ever defeat in the by-polls of PP-38.
Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar said the people of Sialkot rejected those who made anti-Pakistan rhetoric in their drawing room in the by-election. He said PML-N won the constituency in 2018 that decided in favor of the PTI after three years.

میڈیا رپورٹس کے مطابق سیالکوٹ میں بھی PTI کے امیدوار احسن سلیم بریار کامیابی کے قریب ہیں عوام کا یہ اعتماد عمران خان کے سییاسی ویژن کی کامیابی کی علامت ہے، انشاللہ تحریک انصاف نئے نظام کی تشکیل کیلئے اپنی کوششیں جاری رکھے گی۔

The polling started at 8:00 am and continued till 5:00 pm without any break but it was was delayed at various polling stations due to heavy rain. The was knee-deep water at various polling stations causing inconvenience to voters and to the polling staff who wiped out the rainwater on their own.
There were 165 polling stations established for the election, out of which 68 were declared sensitive and 38 highly sensitive. More than 3,000 policemen along with over 500 Punjab Rangers personnel were deployed to ensure law and order. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had also established a control room in the ECP Secretariat to receive polling day complaints.
