PTI announces countrywide protest after Friday prayers

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to stage countrywide protest demonstrations today to condemn assassination attempt on its party Chairman Imran Khan and to press demand for early elections.

Taking to Twitter, central leader of party Asad Umar said countrywide protest demonstrations would continue unless and until Imran Khan’s demands were not met.

According to initial investigation, 11 bullet casings were found at the crime scene soon after the firing incident in which Chairman PTI Imran Khan and 13 others were injured while a party worker lost life.

Reports suggest the youth Muazzam Qaiser, who lost his life, was trying to capture the accused, and the deceased received a gunshot to his head that killed him on the spot.

The attack on Imran Khan’s life has drawn worldwide condemnation. Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, US, Canada, Belgium and several other nations have condemned the assassination attempt in strongest possible terms.
