Lahore Qalandars have announced that Australian leg-spinner Fawad Ahmed will replace Rashid Khan for the last round-robin match and playoffs of the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) seventh edition.
The leg-spinner will be unavailable for selection as he has to fly back for international duty. Afghanistan are set to tour Bangladesh for a three-match ODI and two-match T20I series.
The Afghan leg-spinner has been an integral part of Lahore Qalandars this season as he has contributed with both bat and ball. He has picked up four wickets in five matches while also scoring 54 runs at a strike-rate of 270.
Rashid will be available for Lahore Qalandars till February 19, which means that he will miss the match against Peshawar Zalmi on February 21.
It must be noted that Fawad, who has 166 wickets in 163 matches, has featured for Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators in the past.
