ISLAMABAD: A large number of people have started staging protests against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Members of National Assembly (MNAs) residing in Sindh house, Islamabad.
A protest was held in Faisalabad, the constituency of PTI MNA Raja Riaz, who has taken refuge in the Sindh House. The constituents raised slogans against them and demanded that he resigns from his post.
According to details, a protest was staged outside the house of MNA Wajeeha Akram in Lahore. The protestors said that Wajeeha Akram had the mandate of PTI and should resign from the party. Several party activists have also gathered outside the Sindh House in Islamabad, brandishing ‘lotas’, a derogatory symbol for turncoats.
Raja Riaz, who had surfaced in Sindh House, has claimed that he will tender his resignations after taking part in the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Speaking to a private channel, Raja Riaz alleged that MNAs were being threatened at the Parliament Lodges and taken away from there. “We have been protesting before the government for the last 3.5 years. We will resign after casting our votes on the no-confidence motion in accordance with our conscience and then we will contest elections again.”
He alleged that PTI is the most affected party by corruption and he could name several personalities who are involved in corruption Riaz said that he will receive party ticket from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) at an appropriate time. He claimed that nobody could prove corruption allegations against him in his political career. He asked the prime minister not to level allegations of horse-trading against them.
A number of ruling party lawmakers have appeared on screen from Sindh House after the prime minister revealed their presence and say the building has turned into a hub of horse trading and “bags of cash” are being brought there.
Raja Riaz, a member of Jahangir Tareen group, said they have taken shelter at the Sindh House after the recent incident of Parliament Lodges. He claimed that around two dozens MNAs are also present there. Another PTI MNA, Noor Alam Khan said allegations about taking money from the opposition are regrettable and they will vote as per their conscience.
