Due to ongoing protests by the Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen over Parachinar in Karachi at 12 locations, the city is facing severe traffic jams, causing significant inconvenience to residents.
Reports indicate that the road leading to Karachi Airport is closed due to protests at Natha Khan, while protests continue at Kamran Chowrangi, Malir 15, and Abu al-Hasan Isfahani Road (near Abbas Town), affecting traffic flow in these areas.
According to media reports, protesters have also blocked key routes at University Road (near Samama) and Numaish Chowrangi, while traffic issues are reported near Shahrah-e-Pakistan (near Ancholi) and the road to Surjani Town.
Media reports suggest that heavy traffic jams are reported at Steel Town Mor and Korangi 2.5, and Shahrah-e-Faisal near Natha Khan Bridge is heavily blocked.
The police are in talks with the protesters and are requesting to open at least one lane for passengers traveling to the airport, but the refusal of the protesters has increased the difficulties for travelers.
According to the Karachi Traffic Police spokesperson, traffic heading towards MA Jinnah Road is being diverted towards Soldier Bazaar. Traffic heading to Abbas Town is being diverted from Paradise Bakery towards Faryah Chowk. Citizens heading to Five Star Chowrangi are using the service road, and traffic on University Road is being diverted to internal areas. For travelers heading to Shahrah-e-Faisal, the route to the airport is open via Pehlwan Goth.
Travelers from Malir and Korangi to the airport are advised to use the Shah Faisal Colony Bridge. For those coming from the National Highway to Malir 15, the route from Malir Halt to Model Colony is available.
Travelers to Surjani Town are instructed to use the service road of KDA Flats. Citizens heading to Water Pump, Cardio Hospital, and Gulberg Chowrangi are advised to take alternative routes.
For those heading to Kamran Chowrangi, the route via University Road from Mosmiat is suggested. Traffic heading to Nazimabad is being redirected through Lasbela and Teen Hatti, while travelers on the National Highway and towards Township are being directed to Port Qasim.
The traffic police spokesperson urges citizens to adopt these alternative routes to help improve the traffic situation.
