ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned the hearing of a petition filed against Chief Executive Officer of the Geo, Jang Group Mir Shakil ur Rahman in the illegal property case.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah conducted the hearing in which the judge directed that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman should be removed from the list of respondents in the case.
The lawyer for the petitioners also asked for Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) chairman to be made a respondent into the petition.
The NAB earlier on 12th March arrested Mir Shakil ur Rahman related to illegal property cases in Lahore. The bureau presented Rahman before accountability judge Ameer Mohammad Khan.
According to NAB, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had illegally leased the land to Rehman in 1986. He will be produced in front of an accountability court tomorrow for his physical remand.
