ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has asserted that the main objective of privatization of state enterprises was to reduce economic losses.
PM Imran was charring a meeting in Islamabad today (Monday) about capacity-building of the state enterprises being run under the Ministry of Industry.
Prime Minister further said that privatization of state enterprises and burdening the government exchequer was in the national interest.
He also said that business community and the change management experts will be consulted in this process.
In the meeting, PM Imran was briefed that there are a total of 38 organizations under the Industries Division.
After privatization of 13 entities and merger of ten others, 9 of them will remain with the Division. Likewise, five organizations will be transferred to respective divisions and provinces.
In this regard, PM Imran directed the Industries Division to expedite privatization process of approved state entities to ensure completion of this procedure within the stipulated time.
