Prince Albert of Monaco has tested positive for the coronavirus today (Thursday), his palace officials announced.
According to a statement issued in this regard, the Prince’s Palace of Monaco said that there were “no concerns for his health”
The Palace further said that Prince Albert – aged 62 – continues to work from his private apartment while under quarantine. Prince Albert will be treated by doctors from Prince Grace Hospital, the palace added.
Prince Albert tested positive after unveiling a series of containment measures for the principality as authorities attempt to curb the outbreak of coronavirus.
Two days earlier, Prince Albert announced a ban on group gatherings within the principality and said that only limited travel, for healthcare and food shopping, would be allowed. Monaco Grand Prix was also postponed.
The royal is the latest high-profile victim of coronavirus that has infected more than 200,000 worldwide and claimed lives of more than 9,000 people.
