KARACHI: The price of milk is expected to increase up to Rs 60 per liter as the government is preparing to make milk more expensive by imposing a sales tax.
According to details, milk is being sold at different prices in Karachi. Some vendors sell at Rs 100 or less, but in most places, milk is being sold at Rs 130 to 140 per liter.
At the official level, the price of milk was fixed at Rs. 120. However, milk is sold expensively at various milk shops as opposed to the official price, while the federal government is considering imposing a sales tax on milk.

On the other hand, the Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association wrote a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan. Milk sellers say that if the federal government imposes a sales tax, we too will be forced to increase the price of milk.
Analysts say that dairy and cattle farmers will be forced to increase the price of milk and the price of milk can be increased up to Rs 60 per liter. Thus, the new price of milk will go up from Rs 180 to Rs 200 per liter.
