ISLAMABAD: The weekly inflation rate in the country increased further, according to the data of the Federal Bureau of Statistics
According to the statistics, the rate of inflation in the country on a weekly basis increased to 3.73% while on an annual basis, the inflation increased to 29.21%.
During the recent week, the prices of 20 items, including potatoes, onions, tomatoes, and eggs, increased, while the prices of 7 items decreased and the prices of 24 items remained stable.
The report said that during a week, tomatoes became expensive by Rs.19, eggs by Rs.13 per dozen, potatoes, onions by Rs.2.2 per kg, garlic by Rs.11, and live chicken by Rs.7 per kg.
According to the statistics agency, lentils including all kinds became expensive by Rs 1.1 kg, and domestic LPG cylinders became expensive by Rs 103.
The report further stated that 7 rupees per dozen in a week, Sugar Rs 2 per kg, 2.5 kg ghee box Rs 14, a box of 5 kg cooking oil has become cheaper by Rs 38 and a bag of 20 kg flour become cheaper by Rs 5.
