President Asif Ali Zardari was hospitalized on Tuesday after his health reportedly worsened the previous night.
The former president was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi, ARY News reported citing source within PPP.
He is currently receiving medical treatment, with doctors conducting various tests to evaluate his condition. In response to the situation, security around the hospital has been heightened, with police and law enforcement agencies deployed to ensure safety.
At 69 years old, President Zardari has faced several health challenges in recent years.
Late in 2024, President Zardari suffered a foot fracture while disembarking a plane at Dubai Airport during a private visit to the UAE.
In March 2023, he underwent eye surgery in the United Arab Emirates. The previous year, in 2022, he was hospitalized for a week at Dr. Ziauddin Hospital in Karachi to receive treatment for a chest infection.
Amid growing rumors about his health, his personal physician and close associate, Dr. Asim Hussain, took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to reassure the public, stating that the president “is in good health.”
