ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi has tweeted a quote of Islamic verse about the fake news.
In a tweet, Dr. Arif Alvi wrote, “On fake news & rumors: When they get info about public security or fear, they spread it around. But if they had referred it back to the Messenger or to those in authority (competent to investigate), then they could have drawn correct conclusions from it. Al-Quran Surah Nisa V-83.”

The president wrote the translation of an Islamic verse he posted priorly.
وَإِذَا جَاءهُمْ أَمْرٌ مِّنَ الأَمْنِ أَوِ الْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُواْ بِهِ وَلَوْرَدُّوهُ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ وَإِلَى أُوْلِي الأَمْرِمِنْهُمْ لَعَلِمَهُ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَنبِطُونَهُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَوْلاَفَضْلُ اللّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ لاَتَّبَعْتُمُ الشَّيْطَانَ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً

He earlier on Monday said that those found responsible for the wheat and sugar crisis would be sent home. He said that strict and departmental actions would be taken against the responsible for the wheat and sugar crisis.
Referring to his statements about the wheat crisis, he said that media had distorted his statements, adding that it was media responsibility to present a true picture of the situation.
