ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi Tuesday telephoned bereaved families of Shaheed Lance Naik Abdul Waheed and Shaheed Sepoy Sakum Dad to express his condolences.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
The President also paid tributes to the both martyred soldiers for their sacrifices to defend the motherland.
On April 26, two Pakistani Soldiers were martyred and nine terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khaisura and Dossali areas of North Waziristan.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces had conducted an intelligence-based operation on credible information about the presence of terrorists in Khaisura and Dossali areas.
ISPR further said that during the exchange of fire, 9 terrorists were killed, while two soldiers had martyred.
The military media wing had informed that martyred soldiers were identified as Lance Naek Abdul Waheed and sepoy Sakum Dad. Lance Naek Abdul Waheed was a native of Muzaffarabad, while sepoy Saqamdad belonged to Abbottabad.
Earlier on April 13, ISPR had reported that the security forces shot dead two terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan’s Datta Khel area. However, a soldier identified as Naek Adil Shehzad was also martyred in the incident.
