AJMER: A prayer leader was killed by three people wearing masks in a mosque in Ajmer’s Kanchan Nagar area.
They entered the mosque where Maulvi Mohammad Mahir, 30, was living with his six children, and beat him to death.
The police say it happened around 3 am. They think the attackers used sticks to hurt him and then took his phone before running away. The police are watching CCTV footage to find the attackers and understand why they did this.
Witnesses saw the attackers come in through a back door and go straight to where Maulvi Mohammad Mahir was. They scared the children and then hurt the Maulvi. Ajmer’s police chief, Devendra Kumar Bishnoi, said it was a horrible act of violence. He promised to use all the tools they have to catch those responsible.
The police got there quickly when they heard what happened. They found some sticks with blood on them near the mosque. Maulvi Mohammad Mahir had been leading prayers at the mosque for about six months. There were some arguments within the mosque community before this happened.
People in Ajmer are upset and scared after this happened. They want the police to find out who did this and bring them to justice. More police are now in the area to keep things calm. Everyone is waiting for answers and for the police to find the people who did this awful thing.
