ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will not attend today’s National Assembly session convened by the government to table a resolution seeking the expulsion of the French ambassador to Pakistan as agreed with the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
According to details, some PPP lawmakers asserted that the party should put forth its point of view on the issue before boycotting the session. However, the PPP decided to opt out of the session following a majority of its lawmakers’ agreement.
Meanwhile, the people’s party has informed its members about the decision through phone calls, saying that it will remain impartial in the developing situation.
In a Tweet, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto claimed that the PTI-led federal government was trying to hide behind the National Assembly (NA) after ‘mishandling’ the situation.
Agreement wasnt brought to NA, Govt took action on streets, then banned, people killed, over 500 policemen injured, closed internet, PM didn’t make statement in NA, didnt take NA into confidence at any stage. Now PTI wants to hide behind NA. It’s your mess PM, clean up or go home

“Agreement wasn’t brought to NA, government took action on streets, then banned, people killed, over 500 policemen injured, closed internet, PM didn’t make statement in NA, didn’t take NA into confidence at any stage,” Bilawal stated.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed announced in the wee hours today that after a successful round of negotiations, the proscribed Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) had agreed to end its protest across the country after the government agreed to table a resolution regarding the expulsion of the French ambassador in the National Assembly.
