ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has warned that Pakistan People’s Party would be excluded from Pakistan Democratic Movement if it goes against the decision of submitting resignations.
“PDM has only one-point agenda that is to run the country in the right direction as per the constitution,” he said, while talking to journalists outside an accountability court in Islamabad today (Wednesday).
Shahid Khaqan further said that the 11-party opposition was prompted because the country is not being run according to the Constitution. “Even nationalist parties have become part of PDM as well,” he added.
The PML-N further also criticized the PTI-led federal government over increase in petrol prices. “Prime Minister Imran Khan prefers speaking to people over the telephone instead of reaching out to them and do something to give them relief,” he added.
“These days, petrol is being sold at Rs111 per litre and Rs40 worth of tax is being collected from the people. How can a common man survive in this increasing inflation?” he asked.
He also said that the price of petrol should not exceed Rs70 per litre as per the rates of the global market. Earlier on Sunday, the government increased the price of petrol for February by Rs2.70 per litre.
