ISLAMABAD: In an apparent bid to generate consensus among political parties so as to break the political impasse in Pakistan, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) which played a key role to bring the PDM coalition into power last year after ousting Imran Khan-led PTI government, has started establishing contacts with different political parties as part of its efforts to find a solution to the crisis and restore stability to Pakistan.
PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have agreed to engage in delegation-level dialogues with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in a bid to find a way out of the political impasse in the country.
This development comes amid reports that the PPP and Awami National Party (ANP) emphasized the need for dialogue among political parties to tackle the ongoing constitutional and political crisis.
According to reports gathered by MM News, a PPP delegation led by Senator Yousuf Raza Gillani approached the ANP for dialogue among political parties to tackle the ongoing crisis in the country. Gillani praised the ANP for its role in the restoration of democracy and rule of law in Pakistan.

ANP Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain welcomed the PPP delegation’s proposal for dialogue among political parties, saying that it was a good step and all political parties should join hands to end the unrest and chaos in the country. He emphasized the importance of the supremacy of the Parliament and ensuring that all institutions work within their domain.
Representatives from the PPP and PML-N also attended a crucial meeting between the two parties’ leaders. During the meeting, matters pertaining to the possibility of holding elections across the country on the same day came under discussion. PPP leader and former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani also had a meeting with Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Khalid Magsi.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, who was present at the meeting, expressed concern over the current state of the country, noting the widespread sense of despair among the people. He stressed the need for peaceful coexistence between the judiciary and the parliament, acknowledging the seriousness of the situation. The PML-N leader also emphasized the importance of dialogue, urging politicians not to shy away from negotiations and stating that his party has already shared its position with the PML-N.
Meanwhile, the PPP team also held talks with PML-Q Secretary General Tariq Bashir Cheema.
