On the other hand, the Sindh Minister for Information, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the PTI government was using cheap tactics and creating hurdles by placing containers, arresting PPP workers in Multan and warned that if public gathering on PPP Foundation Day would not be permitted in Multan then it would be celebrated all over the country.
The Multan administration has arrested various Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leaders and workers belonging to different political parties including Kasim Gillani, the son of ex-premier Yousaf Raza Gillani after they stormed into the rally venue Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh stadium by removing barriers.
In view of growing COVID-19 concerns, the district administration in Multan has refused to allow the PDM rally. The administration also made arrests and registered cases to prevent the PDM rally. It also sealed all routes going to the venue with containers and released water inside the stadium as well.
According to sources, Multan police and administration blocked the central routes of the Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh stadium and removed the tents, chairs and other equipment from the venue of the PDM rally. “At this time, no PDM leaders or workers are present at the rally’s venue, sources added.
Asifa Bhutto Zardari, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and other leaders are slated to address the PDM rally for which the host party, PPP, has also prepared Plans B and C.
