SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentary leader in the Senate Sherry Rehman has rejected the government’s decision to increase the tax on petroleum products.
Sherry Rehman said that the oil prices in the world market were falling.
Reacting to the government’s decision to increase the petroleum tax by 106 percent, Rehman said that taxes were increasing on petroleum products in New Pakistan while petroleum products should be cheaper.
Criticizing the incumbent government’s economic policy, Rehman said that the Rs 4 trillion revenue shortfall was due to the government’s own incompetence.
The government was punishing the people for this incompetence, she added.
