HYDERABAD: MPA Rana Hamir Singh affiliated with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday.
Tharparkar-based MPA Rana Hameer Singh has contracted the COVID-19, according to a report issued by the diagnostic and research lab of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences.
According to sources, the MPA met and spent time with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) MPA Abdul Rasheed, who has also been tested positive, during the latter’s visit to inaugurate an intensive care unit at an Al-Khidmat Foundation health facility in Tharparkar over a week ago.
Separately, a woman beneficiary of the Ehsaas Programme, hailing from a village in Dahili taluka of Tharparkar has also tested positive for the COVID-19.
Meanwhile, another doctor at Taluka hospital, Ratodero, has also tested positive, after which local authorities have prepared list of 61 persons including his family members, who will be tested.
On Tuesday, four members of a family, including a female doctor have tested positive for COVID-19 in Thatta district.
Sindh health officials had confirmed that the female doctor, who works at the diagnostic laboratory of a private hospital in Karimabad, had tested positive for the COVID-19 along with her husband, daughter, and mother-in-law.
The officials further said the family, which lives in Mirpur Sakro taluka village, has been put under home isolation.
According to sources, in the same district, a bank manager and three of his family members tested positive for the COVID-19 on Sunday.
