KARACHI: Police constable Jafar Hussain was killed after being shot by robbers following resistance and a mugging attempy near Nagan Chowrangi.
The case has been registered at the Sardis police station in Karachi. As per reports, four suspects tried to rob a policeman, resulting in exchange of gunfire from both sides.
One of the criminals was shot thrice during the police firing but still managed to escape from the scene of the incident with the help of his accomplices.
Moreover, the policeman was rushed to the hospital but could not survive and succumbed to his wounds. The injured suspect has been identified as Rehmat and is in critical condition.
According to the police, the accused was arrested two years ago and has confessed to his crimes. He also mentioned the names of three other accomplices in his statement.
After the operation of the accused, the complete statement will be recorded. Police have started an investigation and started searching for the other accused.
