GUJRANWALA: A case has been registered against an ASI for openly torturing a young girl in Gujranwala.
The incident took place in a private housing colony area of Saddar Gujranwala police station where locals called the police after seeing a girl, who was sitting alone in a park. According to eyewitnesses, when people called, ASI named Ali Akbar came without lady police and tortured the woman with slaps and kicked her.
Individuals also forbade it, but the ASI went wild. The victim kept crying but the police officer kept on assaulting her and later he put her in the car.

A case has been registered against ASI and he has been taken into custody after the news broke on the media. DSP Mian Moazzam said that no one is above the law. The police became the plaintiff because the girl did not agree with the plaintiff.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the alleged violence against a woman at Saddar police station in Gujranwala and demanded a report.
Buzdar also ordered legal and judicial action against the officer who allegedly tortured him. “Respect for women is obligatory, we cannot allow violence against anyone,” she said. The victim will be given justice. The duty of the police is to help the people, violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances, he added.
