LOWER DIR: Two terrorists involved in the martyrdom of a traffic police constable were killed in a police encounter conducted by the Lower Dir Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday night.
According to information made available to MM News, the Lower Dir Police and CTD received a confirmed tip-off that the terrorists responsible for the martyrdom of Traffic Police Constable Bakht Zamin were present in the limits of Talash Police Station. The terrorists were identified as Hafizullah alias Umar son of Shirin and Burhanuddin son of Jan Wali, residents of Malakand Agency.
Acting on the information, the Lower Dir Police and CTD conducted a joint operation to capture the terrorists. During the operation, the terrorists opened fire on the police party and also threw hand grenades. However, the grenades failed to explode.
In response, the police returned the fire, resulting in the killing of both terrorists. Two pistols and hand grenades were also recovered from the terrorists.
After the encounter, CTD and police have surrounded the area and started a search operation.
