Police foil bid to transport smuggled Iranian diesel to Karachi   

KARACHI: The police foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of Iranian diesel/petrol from Balochistan to Karachi and seized the oil tanker.

According to details, a team of the district west police, during a snap checking in Surjani police, seized an oil tanker containing 25,000 litres of Iranian diesel/petrol.

The official said that the smuggled Iranian diesel was being brought to Karachi from Hub. Police handed over the truck to customs officials. Surjani police have started carrying out raids against Iranian diesel mafia.

It is worth mentioning here that during the operations against the Iranian diesel mafia this month, the Surjani police handed over millions of litres of Iranian diesel to the customs officials.

Earlier in 2019, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) foiled a smuggling bid in Hub. They seized 60,000 litres of Iranian diesel and three kilogrammes of charas from seven trucks. Twelve suspects were also arrested.
