ISLAMABAD: Police have failed to recover the girl who was abducted within the limits of Golra Police Station Islamabad on 4 October 2019.
Mohammad Nawaz, a resident of Islamabad, said his 15-year-old daughter, Laina Nawaz had left her home for a seminary, Jamia Syeda Hafsa and did not return.
He said following the incident area people and his relatives had started the search on their own in a bid to find the girl. Despite several attempts, the girl could not be recovered until two months had passed.
Nawaz alleged that some of his neighbours, including the girl’s female friend Nighat and their sister, were involved in the kidnapping.
He said “We had submitted a complaint to Golra Police Station concerning the abduction of the girl but the police have so far failed to recover the girl notwithstanding the lapse of more than seven months,” he added.
He said DSP Golra police station earlier assured him to arrest the kidnapper after registering an FIR against the accused.
“Later police arrested the abductors but after three days the accused were released”, he said. Nawaz also alleged that “Police officials are supporting the accused and now I am not being heard.”
He criticized police for non-cooperation to recover his daughter and demanded of the police high-ups to help arrest the abductors.
