PESHAWAR, SARGODHA: Police on Friday claimed to have foiled bid of drugs smuggling and nabbed seven smugglers at Bara Road – suburban areas of Peshawar and Sargodha.
According to SSP Operation Zahoor Babar Afridi, a tip-off, a police team initiated the checking of vehicles on entry and exit points of the city after receiving information about drug smuggling.
He said during checking of different vehicles near Bajri Stop on Bara Road, police intercepted a suspected car and recovered 30-kilogram hashish and nine-kilogram opium from the secret compartments of the car.
Police also arrested an accused identified as Muzamil a resident of of Lahore Punjab. Police lodged FIRs against accused and further probe were in progress.
Meanwhile, Sargodha Police have arrested six drug peddlers and recovered narcotics and weapons from their possession.
Police sources said Friday that during a continued drive against drug peddlers and criminals in different police station teams have conducted raids at their jurisdiction and arrested six accused.
Police recovered four Kilograms hashish, 60 bottles of liquor, two Pistols 30-bore and Rs 56000 from their possession.
Police have registered separate cases against the accused and started investigation.
