Karachi: Police apprehends one suspect for illegally supplying Iranian diesel. The suspect was apprehended during a routine snap checking near Super Highway.
According to media reports, 8 thousand liters of Iranian diesel was seized during the snap checking. Police also found a cache of illegal arms hidden in a secret compartment of the truck.
According to police, the suspect was supplying the diesel to the groups of illegal traders of Iranian diesel in different areas.
Police have booked the suspect under various sections and started an investigation against the smuggling of Iranian diesel.
According to SSP City, “a team from Mouchko Police Station, near Hub, acting on a tip-off, intercepted a tanker (TKA-155) and during its checking recovered 8000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel and arrested a suspect identified as Musafir, son of Abdullah”.
SSP added that they have informed Pakistan Customs for their further actions.
Earlier, Custom’s Border Patrol unit has seized 8,000 liters of Iranian petrol and diesel from two tankers. More than 4,000kg betel nuts, 2,000 welding rods, scrap, nuts, and bolts.
As per Custom Authorities, the arrested individual was trying to smuggle the contraband to Quetta.
