KARACHI: The Maritime Security Agency seized drugs worth Rs200 million from the boat during an operation in the open sea.
In a press conference with Customs Enforcement, Deputy DG PMSA Commodore Aamir Iqbal said that the Maritime Security Agency foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs worth 20 crore rupees while operating in the open sea.
Commodore Aamir Iqbal said that during the operation, 2 smugglers and one boat were detained, while the smugglers in the other boat escaped with the boat.

Commodore Aamir Iqbal further said that the smugglers threw the drugs into the sea from the boat to destroy the evidence, however the maritime security recovered 700 kg of hashish, worth around Rs 10 crore, thrown into the sea.
According to the officials, the seized drugs and the accused have been handed over to the customs authorities for further action after being transferred to Karachi.
