ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif have lashed out at each other power crisis.
According to details, Shehbaz Sharif demanded no further increase in the price of electricity and said that the increase in prices was the economic exploitation of the nation.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the prime minister who raises the price of electricity is a thief. Instead of hurting the nation further, the government should resign and go home, he maintained.
On the other hand, Hammad Azhar, while blaming the opposition party for the high cost of electricity, said that due to the costly projects of the PML-N government, electricity was becoming more expensive for the people.
Azhar said that we shut down many old power plants. “The government wants to make electricity cheaper,” he said. He said that due to the agreements reached during the PMLN government, the government had to increase the price of electricity,” he added.
