SAHIWAL: Worker who came to meet Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz vice president Maryam Nawaz was denied and slapped by security guards in Punjab’s Sahiwal.
The incident was reported when Maryam Nawaz was returning from Sahiwal after attending the party meeting. A large number of workers of the party reached the area and wanted to meet Maryam before her departure, but they were stopped by the security guards.
As Maryam Nawaz started to leave in the car, a worker lay down on the ground on which the security guards slapped the worker and dragged him out of the way.
Maryam Nawaz was watching the whole scene in her car but she did not bother to stop the security guards from manhandling the party worker, who came to meet her.
Later speaking to the media, the activist who was tortured said that he was a PML-N member from Sahiwal and wanted to meet Maryam Nawaz to convey his grievance. He said the PML-N leadership should give respect to the party workers first before raising the slogan of ‘give respect to the vote.’
“I was not allowed to attend the meeting of the Sahiwal division and I wanted to convey this to her,” he said.
