ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Murree today where he will inaugurate the newly-established Kohsar University.
The Punjab House of Murree has also been included in the Kohsar University to expand its premises and academic blocks. In December last year, it was decided to handed over the a mansion comprising 96 Kanals land from the Punjab government for the university.
Special disciplines including Hotel Management and promotion of tourism are being introduced in the university besides art and science faculties to provide trained people in hotel management and tourism sector. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the up-gradation of TB sanatorium.

In February, the university started the admission process for the four-year BS degree programme and now welcome its first new batch of students in spring semester.
The maiden meeting of the university’s first academic council was convened by Kohsar University Vice-Chancellor Dr Nadeem Akhtar Abbasi.
The head of the admission committee, Madam Tanzeela, told the meeting participants that the students would get admission forms from the university’s admin block at Kashmir Point from February 15.
The students will be able to take admission in four-year degree courses in different departments, including English, Urdu, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Botany, Mathematics, and Statistics.
She said the semester fee of the Kohsar University would be nominal while a 20 percent quota has been fixed for the students hailing from Murree, Kahuta, and Kotli Sattiyan.
