ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting today to discuss a 16-point agenda.
Thee meeting which will be attended by all four provincial chief ministers and chief secretaries. According to the agenda, the annual reports of the CCI for 2016 and 2017 years will be submitted in the session for approval.
The CCI in its meeting will discuss the amended petroleum policy, LNG import, and amendment in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) ordinance 2002. The issue of the NOC for the installation of a 25MW hydropower project located on Chashma-Jhelum Link Canal will also be part of the agenda.

A summary of the privatization of the Haveli Shah Bahadur and Balloki power plants has also been sent to the council for a decision. The issue of the distribution of natural resources under Article 158 and 172 will also be discussed in the CCI meeting.
The CCI will also discuss the appointment of the Chairman and Members of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA). The alternate energy policy 2019 will also be presented in the CCI session for approval.
The ministers for finance, revenue & economic affairs and industries and production have been replaced in the CCI. Sindh has three members on the eight-member forum which has two members each from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Balochistan chief minister is the only member of the CCI from that province.

The CCI meeting was scheduled for December 11 but was canceled owing to excess agenda shared from the Sindh.
The Council of Common Interests (CCI) is a constitutional body in the Government of Pakistan. It is appointed by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister. The CCI resolves the disputes of power-sharing between the federation and provinces.
