ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch the disbursement of interest-free loans on Wednesday (today) to low-income groups under Kamyab Pakistan Program.
Under Kamyab Pakistan Program – a component of the prime minister’s vision for poverty alleviation – loans worth Rs 407 billion would be disbursed among youths, women, farmers and for the construction of low-income houses during the next two years.
The government would provide a subsidy of Rs56 billion for the purpose. The key objective of the Kamyab Pakistan Program is to provide relief to the low-income group and increase economic growth. The launching ceremony will be held at Faisal Mosque.
Earlier this month, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said after the success of the Kamyab Jawan Programme (KJP), the federal government will launch ‘Kamyab Pakistan Programme’ to provide interest-free loans from Rs 1 lac to 5 lac to the youth.

During a visit to Karachi, he said KJP will prove a milestone in sustainable economic development of the country besides provision of enormous employment opportunities to the youth. He said Rs5 billion had been disbursed to youth of Sindh under the KJP and thousands of young entrepreneurs have started business in the province.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed his team to ensure maximum relief to the masses, particularly by providing financial opportunities to the youth which could serve as the growth engine for the country. He added efforts were underway to ensure disbursement of Rs6 billion more under the KJP to the youth of Sindh in the current year.
The federal government has disbursed loans worth Rs2.5 billion under Kamyab Pakistan Program (KPP). Small loans for businesses, farmers, and construction of houses are included under the program.
