ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of the alleged kidnapping, sexual assault and murder of a teenage girl in a rural area near Gujarat.
Minister for State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad said the prime minister has taken notice of this incident and sought a report from concerned police authorities. He said there would be no relaxation and the perpetrators would be given exemplary punishment.
The incident occurred on March 22 in the rural area of Kunja near Gujrat. Mohamad Akbar narrated the incident and said he went along with his wife to find accommodation for rent and came back an hour later. When they returned, he found her daughter, Masmat Fajra, being kidnapped and dragged into a car. He tried to create a commotion but they criminals sped away.
The alleged perpetrators, Khalid Mahmood and Ramzan, then took her to a place near Peer Nanhawali, where local gangsters, Yasir Arafat alias Sherry and Muhammad Bashir, sexually assaulted her and took her to an unknown location.
The girl’s father said that he came to know that his daughter was kept at a hotel near Dakhar Naveli where she was repeatedly raped and poisoned after which her health worsened. The girl was then dumped outside her father’s house in a subconscious state.
She was taken to Shabbir Sharif Hospital which was closed and referred to Maternity Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. An FIR was registered 24 days after the incident as the poor family did not file a complaint. The girl’s father has appealed for justice and said he is being pressured by the local gangster to withdraw the case.
