In light of escalating regional tensions, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has postponed his planned visit to Malaysia, and diplomatic sources confirmed it on Sunday.
The Prime Minister was scheduled to embark on a two-day official visit to Malaysia next week, accompanied by a high-level delegation. However, the trip has now been deferred due to evolving geopolitical circumstances.
A telephone conversation took place between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, during which PM Sharif formally conveyed his regrets for postponing the visit.
He briefed his Malaysian counterpart on the current situation in the region and emphasized the importance of maintaining close diplomatic ties.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strong bilateral relations, Prime Minister Shehbaz assured that he remains determined to visit Malaysia later this year.
Tensions in the region are high after India started accusing Pakistan of the Pahalgam attack without providing any concrete proof.
