ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed concern over the first polio case report in the country after 15 months.
Expressing concern over the report of the polio case, the Prime Minister has convened a meeting of National Task Force on Polio Eradication on Monday. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities to formulate a plan of action to eradicate polio.

On the other hand, former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has criticized the government and said that polio has returned after 15 months, may Allah protect Pakistan. He said that polio was eradicated in Imran Khan’s government. Bill Gates had termed polio eradication as a great achievement for Pakistan.
He said that the political adventure against the Imran Khan government broke the back of the country’s economy. It should be noted that the National Institutes of Health has confirmed polio in a child belonging to North Waziristan. There have been 3 cases of polio worldwide this year.
