LAHORE: An emergency meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which a briefing was given on the contacts with the disgruntled members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
According to the details, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discussed possible measures to prevent the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly in an emergency meeting of the senior leaders of the PML-N.
Discussions were held on various issues including bringing a motion of no confidence in the Punjab Assembly. The prime minister was also briefed on the number game in the House during the emergency session. Options were also considered regarding the imposition of the Governor’s rule.

During the briefing, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was informed about the contacts with the disgruntled Tehreek-e-Insaf members as well as the suspended PML-N members of the Punjab Assembly. Consultations were held on other possible constitutional options, including taking a vote of confidence.
During the meeting, federal ministers, senior PML-I leaders, special assistants to the prime minister and members of the assembly participated. Former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz, Rana Sanaullah, Saad Rafique, Ataullah Tarar and other PML-N leaders were also present.
Apart from the central leadership and ministers of the Muslim League (N), Azam Nazir Tarar, Malik Ahmad Khan, Owais Leghari and others also participated in the emergency meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
