PM reaffirms providing facilities to medical staff treating coronavirus patients

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed the government’s resolve to provide all possible facilities to medical staff who are actively engaged in treating coronavirus-affected patients across the country.

Addressing a high-level meeting, the prime said Pakistan is facing different circumstances as compared to the rest of the world, as the country is also fighting a decisive war against poverty and unemployment.

PM Imran Khan expressed confidence that the government will take further effective steps against coronavirus after observing the steps taken by the countries worldwide against the pandemic. He emphasised that the government will ensure dispensation of accurate data about the coronavirus situation to all concerned stakeholders.

The meeting decided to form a research committee, which would prepare and present its recommendations to the National Coordination Committee to cope with Coronavirus. It also approved to grant an additional one-month salary to all doctors and paramedical staff engaged in treating patients in the federal capital.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman gave an updated briefing to the prime minister about the government’s measures to provide medical facilities, including coronavirus testing kits and ventilators to hospitals.
