Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed swift action against individuals involved in the recent riots in Islamabad, warning of strict measures against any attempts to destabilize the nation’s economy.
According to a report by Pak Observer on Tuesday, in a high-level security meeting with key officials, including Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Sharif emphasized the importance of avoiding the arrest of innocent civilians during the crackdown.
“We will not tolerate chaos or sabotage of our stabilizing economy,” Sharif stated. He called for immediate action against those responsible for violence, vandalism, and damage to public and private property.
Sharif ordered the formation of a dedicated task force to accelerate evidence collection and identify the perpetrators. He also stressed the need for adequate resources to ensure the task force operates effectively.
Additionally, the Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Law to bring the Federal Prosecution Service under its jurisdiction and instructed the expedited construction of Islamabad’s new jail, with funds to be released immediately for the project.
