ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) accepted martyrdom but did not bow down to a corrupt ruler’s unjust demands.
According to the details, the 10th day of Muharram (Ashura Day) is being observed with great religious devotion and respect all over the country today. In his message to the nation on the occasion of the day of martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the prime minister said that Ashura Day has had important features even before Islam.
In a message on the occasion of Ashura, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the importance of Ashura was further enhanced by the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet. Imam Hussein accepted the f martyrdom but did not accept to bow before the tyrant.

In his message to the nation, PM Imran Khan further said that no matter how much falsehood is on the rise, its destiny has to be eradicated. “Because of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), Islam is alive today,” the prime minister said by adding to ensure implementation of SOPs to prevent coronavirus in public gatherings during Ashura Day.
It may be recalled that today, on the occasion of Ashura Muharram, the day of martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) is being observed all over the world including Pakistan. This is the day when Imam Hussain (RA) along with the Ahlul Bayt drank the cup of martyrdom in the field of Karbala.
On the 10th of Muharram, the first month of every Islamic year, processions, rallies, and condolences are organized on the occasion of Ashura. Scholars and Zakirs narrate the philosophy of martyrdom of Imam Hussain.
