ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the budget session of the National Assembly today at 11 am, the strategy of which has been decided.
According to details, government members and ministers decided on the strategy of PM Imran Khan’s address to the budget session of the National Assembly. Under the government’s plan, matters will be settled with the opposition before the speech.
The National Assembly session will approve the supplementary grants, after which Prime Minister Imran Khan will address today’s session of the National Assembly, chaired by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser.
On this issue, the Speaker’s Office decided to contact the opposition so that the opposition would refrain from interrupting the prime minister’s speech. Earlier, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri presided over yesterday’s National Assembly session.
After Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, the chairmanship of the National Assembly was transferred to Asad Qaiser while Qasim Suri joined the members of the Assembly for counting while the approval of the federal budget was the most important part of the meeting.
It may be recalled that earlier the National Assembly had approved Finance Bill 22-2021 by a majority vote. The bill was introduced by Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tareen while members of the federal government and opposition were present in the National Assembly session.
In a meeting chaired by the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser yesterday, Finance Bill 22-2021 was passed with amendments. Later, the National Assembly session was adjourned till 11 am on Wednesday.
